Summer Camps | Athletics

June 5th - June 7th

Student Age: 12 years old and up

Time: 9 am - Noon

Location: Berean's Football Field

Led By: Nick Harris, 12 Year Former NFL Football Kicker

Bio: Campers will learn proper punting and kicking techniques for football at Berean's kicking and punting camp. Campers will participate in individual drills, group work, and film study to hone their kicking abilities. The camp will be directed by Nick Harris, Berean's principal, who played college football at the University of California, Berkeley. While in Berkeley, Mr. Harris set NCAA career records for (1) number of punts and (2) career punting yardage. As a senior, he earned consensus All-American honors. Mr. Harris played professionally for the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers during his 12-year NFL career.

Led By: Berean Mens Varsity Head Coach Justin Wade

Bio: Berean Basketball Camp is run by Justin Wade, who has spent 14 years teaching and coaching at Berean. The camp offers a wide variety of learning and developing the skills of a basketball player. Campers will learn various techniques and have opportunities to work on those techniques in a small group. Some of the techniques we will cover is finishing moves, passing, dribbling, and proper shooting form. Current and former players will be on hand to demonstrate and coach all who attend.

June 26th - June 29rd

Grades: 6th - 8th

Time: 10 am - 2 pm

Location: Berean Christian High School

Led By: Jeremy Brys, Varsity Head Baseball Coach

Bio : Berean’s baseball camp is set to return this summer along with coaches and players from last season’s NCS and State runner-up. Campers will enjoy working with Berean coaches and players as they look to hone their skills on the diamond. Campers will get to work on hitting and throwing techniques and play in unique games.

July 17th - July 21st

Grades: 6th - 8th

Time: 10 am - Noon

Location: NorthCreek Academy's Gymnasium

Led By: Lucas Abbott, Former D1 & Professional Volleyball Player

Bio: Volleyball camp is open to all genders and skill levels. During the camp, we will cover, teach and improve upon all volleyball skills in a fun, positive and game like environment. This summer camp is led by former D1 and professional volleyball player, and current Berean Christian Varsity Head Coach, Lucas Abbott. The campers will also get to work with Berean Varsity Volleyball players who are coming off winning a state title last season.

June 12 & 13 Youth/Beginner Camp

Grades: 3rd - 6th

June 14 & 15 Youth/Advanced Camp

Grades: 6th - 8th

Time 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Location: Heather Farms Field #4

Led By: Coach La Shawn Wells (Athletic Director)

Bio: The Berean Christian Softball Camp is run by Athletic Director and softball coach La Shawn Wells with help from some of his former and current college players. The camp will give young players a chance to further develop their skills in every facet of the game. The camp will emphasize the proper techniques for each player's position and segment of the game (running, stealing, throwing, receiving, hitting, bunting, pitching, catching, outfield play and infield play). Drills and practice in all categories will be given to help strengthen and develop the player.
